The Fullness Of God (pt 1) The Stone of David

65

By John Cain

The fullness of God and His spirit within us can enable you to overcome defeat, make demons flee, overcome trials and tribulations, and radiate your testimony. When you desire and maintain a close relationship with Jesus, people will look upon you and see the purity of the Lord. You will be a walking testimony. People will not have to ask you if you attend church. They will see it within you. The devils crowd will scoff and mock, but the power within you will not allow your spirit to be blemished.

The term "be filled with the sprit" does not imply to be half full. It means seeking more and more of His spirit to a point that it can not be contained. It is an unmeasureable abundance flowing from within you. For example, on most pressure guages, you will see printing on the guage face to a maximum measured pressure. After the measureable part of a guage is surpassed, most guages will have the word "retard" after the highest number. Retard mens that the pressure has reached a point to where it can not be measured. In the spiritual definition of this same pressure,it " can not be retained" Its going to flow out.

A lot of us, when it comes to recieving things from God, have a low limit thermostat, and a high limit thermstat. The low limit meaning that you have some spirituality and the high limit is where we choose to cut everything off because thats all we want. We want some, but we dont like to stand out. We wantGod, but we also want left alone. This is a dangerous position to take. We then wonder why we are not as spiritual as the other person. Its because we chose not to get into " radar" sight. We can get beaten up every time we turn around or we can choose to follow this mans example.

Davids priority was to continually want more and more from God. In his 23rd Psalm he wrote the following.

Psalm 23:1 " The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall ot want. " (KJV} Here David declares whom he seeks and obeys, and with Him, he will not be anxious for anything. Its that simple. David had his mind made up and never compromised anything. He favored God as his Shepherd and the Shepherd always delivers his sheep.

David and the Philistine Goliath I Samuel 17:49 { KJV }

And David put his hand in his bag,and took thence a stone ,and slang it, and smote the philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth.

It wasnt the little stone that killed Goliath. The stone represented Gods power and spirit when His sheep are armed with all His armour. If you will, Goliath represented several things. He represented death, defeat, sin, uncleanliness, and disobedience, to the follower of the Lord. David was chosen by God because David made up his mind to be near God in body and in spirit.

My dearest friend Tex, I love this part of your new hub. It is so true. So many luke warm Christians like to sit on the fence and swing with the popularity polls. We know that God says He will spew them out of His mouth. There is nothing more beautiful than to be so full of The Holy Spirit that your heart is so tender with His love. And your eyes leak from His joy within. You cannot explain this emotion to anyone. Only by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour can you obtain His ultimate joy.

Much love and hugs.!!!!!!!!!!

I thank you for emphasizing the power of God that Christianity, I believe, fails to stress enough. All glory to God!

Forever His,

"I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering."

I think it's the last part of that verse that folks stumble over when considering the cost of standing out.

Oh but when you have tasted that the Lord is good, you cannot help but want more no matter the cost

God's blessings and his grace are freely given of God and we are flled to overflowing as God does and gives nothing in partial measures. When we are filled with God's Holy Spirit, we are totally filled, Holy spirit takes over every part of our being, filling us with God's knowledge and wisdom as required and needed.
