The Dying Motto
57The dying motto is " In God We Trust"
Let me see here for a minute. We cannot publicly display the ten commandments because it ( may ) offend someone. We cannot publicly display the holy bible because that ( may ) offend someone. WE cannot publicly display anything that pertains to God, religion, nor beliefs. For it ( may ) offend someone. Our children cannot pray publicly in public schools because it ( may ) offend someone.
So I wonder what is next. I know what. " In God We Trust " will be removed from all United States currency, because it ( may ) offend someone. I feel that our government is selling its people out because they have compromised their standards. Little do they know, but, God is going to have a people who know His voice. The government is looking for other ways and shutting down the " ONLY " way.
I think the day will come, that if you are caught openly being a christian, that you will be arrested. Well, if I am arrested for this, I hope that the jury finds enough evidence to convict me. But my judge doesnt wear a long black robe and beat a gavel. My judge wears a long white robe and holds a double edged sword. He is not court appointed, rather He is the Annointed One.
We cannot hide our light under a basket. It would not shine on anyone. I will not compromise the standards that my parents lived and taught me. No matter the cost, if its right, I will stand up for it. Be it known to all men now. : I STAND FOR JESUS " Amen

AMEN, John great hub, If we as Christians stop speaking up these things will come to pass. We need to be vocal about being Christians, we need to let Washington D. C. know we will not back down from God being the force behind this nation from our founding to present day. I heard a report today about a first grade girl and her daddy talking. He asked her about school and how she was doing, she let him know she is afraid to say anything about God or even mention the name of God because she could get in trouble. This is in rural Kansas. What are our teachers teaching our kids?
Religion is kept out of government not because it might offend anyone, but because one of the central codes that our nation was built on, was the separation of church and state, to prevent the horrible atrocities of theocracy... and we must keep in mind, that the specific theocracy our nation's founders were themselves escaping from, was a Christian one.
"In God We Trust" was not part of our nation's beginnings. This motto was added in the 50's by McCarthyism... which also added the "one nation under God" phrase to the US pledge of allegiance.
Thank you for a hub that needs to be read by everyone. God Bless You.
I think it is unfortunate that what had once been meaningful to this nation is no longer true. Even so, Christians understand that this world has a different ruler so it not surprising that he is gaining ground in his world.
Christians live in the spirit and rest in the true and certain knowledge that God is still behind the scenes of life working things out so that ultimately, His will and purpose will be satisfied.
Peace in Him
Forever His,
The problem seems to be that there are more and more, ethnics who were not born in the country being given a say in how the country is being run than there are those born and raised. Unfortunately majority rules.
Brother Dave.
My dear and true friend, how right you are but it will get a lot worse as time goes on. As far as taking "In God We Trust" off of American currency it's easy. They will just do away with cash altogether. Give us an RFID Chip and we will scan like a card. Thus no more use of the word GOD.
Thank you for your stand, i for one am with you.
God Bless You John
OOOOH! I get mad just thinking about idiots who are in Washington with their agendas Of keeping up with the Jones of other agnostic and atheistic nations. Yes, I agree. I don't think it is that far away, that our currency will be completely devoid of anything that might remotely hint of God!
I'm fed up with people that say that our goverment was not founded and guided by Christian principles. They refuse to admit this, but they should look at the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin were said to be the most liberal of the signers. The MOST liberal, yet read it and you will see that believing that God's word guided government was evident. While Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, many of his phrases and truths came from the pulpits from preachers of the day , and those back from other generations.
Look at all the icons and monuments that plainly have scripture and homage to God on them. For radicals to say that God has no place in government is ludicrous! Our founding fathers said he did!
HA! DIDN"T MEAN TO WRITE A HUB !LOL!
